He affirmed that fascism can only be confronted by international law and respect for the principles contained in the United Nations Charter.

Gil commented on the countries that, along with Venezuela, are part of the Group of nations that defend the UN Charter and its principles, and affirmed that this is the only way “we have to preserve peace.”

He commented how in recent decades the United Nations has been vilified with the systematic violation of its resolutions and how the United States and Europe act under their own rules, which are not discussed or approved by anyone.

However, he assured that with all its imperfection and criticism that may be made, “it is the organization that brings us all together and has the rules that have been given to us all,” he indicated.

The Russian ambassador in Caracas, Sergey Mélik-Bagdasárov, elaborated on the geopolitical changes in the world that are giving rise to the emergence of a new world order, based on the universal historical values of international law.

He highlighted that Moscow, in the context of international politics, focuses on establishing a system of international relations opposed to the application of “criminal unilateral coercive measures against countries that defend their right to independence and sovereignty.”

Mélik-Bagdasárov applauded the celebration the day before in Venezuela of the XXIII Summit of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Peoples’ Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP), which, he said, evidences a new multipolar and pluricentric world .

Yesterday, ALBA-TCP welcomed with satisfaction the role of the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) in the construction of a multipolar and pluricentric world, which advances on the path of equity, justice and the prosperity of the people.
