He National Metereological Service issued an alert for the arrival of a cyclone extratropical that will arrive in the next few hours from the Pacific and will impact the Andes Mountains. The situation will affect the province of Neuquén and part of Mendoza, after strongly impacting the south of Chili.

The cyclone brought intense rains and strong winds to the central-southern area of ​​the neighboring country of Chili. Although it will not be hit by a hurricane, a “strong storm” is expected that could last for two weeks until Saturday, June 16. The authorities are already taking action on the matter, thinking about the weather conditions that are already causing severe damage.

Specialists indicated that there will be different areas of Chili that they are going to receive a lot of precipitation for several days in a row. The greatest impact is expected in the southern area of ​​Biobío and in the central area of ​​Chile, where Santiago is located, with intense electrical storms for several days.

The Atacama and Antofagasta area, according to the forecast, will bear the brunt of the winds that will be stronger than in other places in Chile.

The cyclone keeps a large part of Chile in suspense, but also neighboring provinces of Argentina that remain on alert regarding this situation. Different areas of Neuquén and Mendoza were alerted about the situation and some actions are already being taken into account, although for this Friday the National Meteorological Service did not issue warnings regarding the state of the weather or phenomena that may affect said places.
