PARIS. June 11.— France Insoumise, the Socialist Party, the Greens and the Communist Party announced the creation of a Popular Front against fascism and the extreme right and will support single candidates in the first round of the early legislative elections on June 30 , after the victory of the main far-right party, Marine Le Pen’s National Rally, in the recent European Parliament elections.

«We have negotiated today to address the historical situation in the country, following the results of the European elections and the dissolution of the National Assembly. We call for the creation of a new popular front that brings together in a new way all the humanist, union, associative and citizen forces of the left,” said the document released on Monday and cited by Telesur.

These have the objective of “carrying out a program of social and ecological ruptures to build an alternative to Emmanuel Macron and combat the racist project of the extreme right,” the statement said.

In that sense, they indicated that their candidates “will carry out a disruptive program that will detail the measures to be taken in the first hundred days of the government of the new Popular Front.”

«Our objective is to govern to respond to democratic, ecological, social and peace emergencies. (…) In the way we will govern, with a clear direction, we want to build this new popular front with the forces that share this ambition and this hope,” they assured.

The president of France, Enmanuel Macron, called on Sunday for early legislative elections for June 30 and July 7 (second round), after the victory of his country’s extreme right in the elections for the European Parliament.

In a report on Macron’s decision to dissolve the National Assembly, France 24 said that this measure could turn against his party and the continuity of his government and calls it a “risky” bet, based on comments from experts interviewed and ago. reference to epithets used by the French press to describe it, such as “earthquake”, “thunder”, a “crazy” or “extreme” bet.

Le Parisien says that it is the sixth time in the history of the Fifth Republic that the weapon of dissolution, provided for in article 12 of the Constitution, is drawn by the President. But this sword, which allows a political crisis to be resolved by returning to the polls, has a double edge.

Remember that this move was made at the time by Charles De Gaulle, Francois Mitterand and Jacques Chirac – who did not benefit.

The various analysts cited agree in different words that Macron is playing with fire in a high-risk strategy with an uncertain outcome.

Regarding voting intentions for those legislative elections on June 30 and July 7, two polls published on Monday, one from Harris Interactive-Toluna and the other from Opínionway, give preference to the National Group and place it between 33 and 34 percent, more than 15 points above the result obtained two years ago.

On Monday night, in several French cities, a few thousand people gathered to express their opposition to the extreme right, which they denounced for being “at the gates of power” after the victory at the polls. This happened in the Place de la République in Paris, in Marseille convened by several unions and left-wing parties, also in Nantes, Rennes, Rouen, Bordeaux, Montpellier, Toulouse, Besançon and Strasbourg.
