The French justice ordered to suspend the expulsion of Eric Ciotti of the party The Republicans (LR) considering that it contravenes the statutes of the political store.

This, after the group announced its dismissal for having tried to form an electoral alliance with the far-right National Rally party (AN), of former presidential candidate Marine Le Pen.

According to Europa Press, a Paris court indicated that the politician’s suspension will only be valid “until a finally decisive decision is pronounced.”

In turn, he called on his defense to present their arguments within a maximum period of eight days.

“The Judicial Court of Paris has suspended my expulsion from The Republicans, so I retain my functions as its president”Ciotti indicated on his social networks.

Let us remember that on Wednesday the LR political committee voted, unanimously, to expel its leader. Annie Genevard, representative of the group, pointed out that the group “will present candidates to the French public with clarity and independence.”

The above, with a view to the early elections called by President Emmanuel Macron for next June 30, with a runoff agreed for July 7.

Ciotti, who had revealed a day before that he had reached an electoral agreement with AN, unleashing surprise in an important part of the party, rejected his dismissalasserting that he would remain in his position.

“I am and will continue to be the president” of the party, he wrote on his X account on Wednesday after LR’s decision was informed.

In the tweet, the politician described the committee’s decision as “flagrant violation of our statutes”adding that it was an “illegal” and “null” action.
