We are on the verge of celebrating the most important Book Fair in Spain, the one in Madrid, and although this fair delights all readers in Spanish, it no less enchants book lovers, whether they are written in a language that they know as if they are not because books are not only for reading, they are also objects of worship. In addition to the one in Madrid, do you know which other book fairs you will really enjoy if you are a lover of literature and printed letters? Frankfurt International Book Fair
It claims to be the largest book trade fair in the world in editorial representation (although not in number of attendees); It is celebrated in mid-October, so you do have time to organize the trip to visit it in its 2024 edition. An interesting fact: do not think that only Germans see their desire to buy books satisfied at this fair, it has a book area in English so extensive that it competes to be the largest Book Fair in the world in English.
London Book Fair
You will have even more time to organize your trip to the London Book Fair because its 2024 edition was already held last March. Now, it will be worth the wait because it is a fair that has more than a thousand exhibitors coming from more than 50 countries and with visitors from more than 100 countries. It is, with the Frankfurt International Fair, the largest in area in Europe.
Buenos Aires International Book Fair
This fair began last April 23, the Day of the Book, Shakespeare and Cervantes, but will not close until May 13 and, among the fairs in the Spanish-speaking world, one of the largest, most visited and therefore one of the most important. During the first days the fair is only open to professionals (booksellers, editors, translators, writers…) but from the third day onwards it opens to the general public and becomes an unmissable book show for reading lovers.
Guadalajara International Book Fair (Mexico)
It is celebrated in autumn, its next edition will begin on November 30 and its closing will take place on December 8 (what a great trip for the next December long weekend…); The number of exhibitors at this fair exceeds 2,000 and its visitors come from more than 40 different countries, which confirms that we are facing one of the most important editorial meetings in all of Latin America; This fair is multilingual because it is a great cultural meeting in which authors from all continents and in different languages participate.
More important Book Fairs? There are, of course, the one in Paris could well be one of them and another the American BookExpo that is held in each edition in a different city.
