There are many benefits intended for vulnerable families in the country, one of these being Family Subsidydelivered by the Social Security Institute (IPS) monthly for three years for each child (or disabled person) who meets certain requirements.

To receive the $20,328 that grants the bonus, the home must be within the 60% of the Social Household Registry and not being in a position to financially support their charges.

Review the Family Subsidy requirements

To receive this contribution, the family must have underage children or adolescents in their care, who meet the following requirements:

  • Children under 8 years old: participate in the health programs established by the Minsal.
  • Over 6 years: be a regular student of basic, secondary or higher education in establishments recognized by the State.

In the case of people with disabilities, the benefit will be delivered regardless of their age, being double the original payment ($40,656), as long as they do not receive the Basic Solidarity Disability Pension (PBSI).

In addition, pregnant women are also considered to be responsible for the contribution if they are the dependents of their spouse, starting from the fifth month of pregnancy, through the Maternal Subsidy.
