Decarbonization on roads and cities is a global concern that occupies nations and the automotive industry. However, cargo and long-distance transport is one of the most involved in the urgency to find more sustainable ways to travel. In this sense, A well-known company has launched a new engine with a fuel that floats in the air.

Could this new engine mean the end of hydrogen?

A new motorization model has recently come to light by the Begas company, famous for its ecological models that aims to decarbonize the urban transportation of people, trucks and special vehicles such as agricultural vehicles and caravans.

The new B430LG engine is a line powered by autogas (LPG) and bioautogas (bioGLP) which, as confirmed by the company, has characteristics similar to those of a diesel engine, in relation to its low maintenance and long useful life.

Additionally, the quality of the raw material used in this new engine, the components that make it up and the liquid injection type increase reliability and proven efficiency to reduce carbon emissions into the atmosphere from transportation.

Features of the new Begas engine

The B430LG has been released on the market in two versions for powers of 110 and 140 HP. Its gas combustion allows it to be More affordable than traditional gasoline and diesel engines and has a greater possibility of refueling than electric and hydrogen ones.

Liquid injection optimizes refueling technology by providing greater fuel control from the tank to the injector tip, obtaining a homogeneous combination of oxygen and gas inside the cylinder, reducing fuel consumption.

In this context, the firm’s authorities have stated that Liquid gas injection favors fuel atomization in the intake, which contributes to the reduction of polluting emissions and increases engine efficiency.

The technical report of the new engine highlights as an essential characteristic of this new ecological line its level of pollution reduction through a four-way catalyst that works uniformly, controlling excess emissions.

And stands out from This new biogas engine, the low maintenance cost and its versatility of placementsince it can be installed horizontally or vertically, and offer the same quality of efficiency.

Proven low carbon efficiency of the B430LG

The evaluations of the new Begas engine to verify its decarbonization efficiency have obtained very satisfactory figures. According to Real Drive Emissions Test data, it was confirmed that it reduces emission standards by 92% in particle number (PN) levels.

Regarding the levels of PM10 particles, the first tests decreased by 93%, 90% from nitrogen oxides (NOx), 70% on average from hydrocarbons and 65% in carbon monoxide (CO) levels.

Additionally, the CEO of Begas added regarding the reduction of emissions that the technology applied in this new engine did not require the use of a gas purification system such as Adblue or DPF or forced regeneration of the particulate filter.

He use of biogas as fuel It has proven to be very effective in reducing emissions on roads and cities for heavy transport and for short, medium and long distance transportation of people.

The coexistence of the new engine with electric, hydrogen and hybrid models contributes to improving environmental conditions, although there is still a long way to go in terms of sustainable energy to promote the creation of a healthier and fairer planet for all.
