Both markets show very different dynamics, because while a new reduction in the participation of Italians is foreseen, which is estimated to be 51.4 percent, it is believed that foreign demand will grow and foreign visitors will increase by 48.2 percentage points. .

This year they are confirmed as the main traditional markets, with the most significant increases in tourist flows in the region, mainly from Germany, France, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Poland, Austria and the United Kingdom.

Among non-European markets, the increase is essentially recorded in tourism from Brazil and the United States.

It was also known that the trend is stable for the Canadian and Scandinavian markets, while a slight decrease is observed in requests from Chinese, Japanese, Indian and Spanish.

Vittorio Messina, president of Assoturismo Confesercenti, expressed after knowing these estimates, that “tourism is once again confirmed among the most resistant economic sectors of this country,” and asserted that these results are largely due to the current government policy. , in support of the sector, as well as greater international promotion.

These policies must continue, Messina appreciated, and specified that the priority is investments, as well as updating the offer, “to be in line with the demands and preferences of a tourism that is increasingly attentive to sustainability, as well as more conditioned by the climate change”.
