What is the new luxury hybrid that is sold in Argentina like?

Without much fanfare or launch event, the Toyota Argentina website woke up with a great news that will begin to arrive at dealerships shortly. This is the Toyota Crown, a luxurious crossover that is aligned with models with a coupe silhouette.

It is developed on the TNGA-K platform and is produced at the Japanese Motomachi plant.

The new model is actually the spearhead of the luxury division of the Japanese brand called Crown; It is already sold in the main markets of the world and now it has arrived in Argentina.

This luxurious model measures 4.98 meters long, 1.84 m wide, 1.55 m high and has a wheelbase of 2.85 m.

It measures 4,980 mm long, 1,840 mm wide and 1,555 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,850 mm. The trunk capacity is 433 liters.

Due to these dimensions and the approach, the Crown fully enters the D (medium) segment and has as its main rival the DS4, the French firm’s luxury crossover.

The great differential of this new premium model that arrived on the Argentine market is that its engine is hybrid. This means that it has a propulsion system that combines a turbo internal combustion engine with an electric motor on the front axle and another on the rear axle, that is, it has all-wheel drive.

The 2.4-liter turbo gasoline engine has four in-line cylinders, 16 valves, distribution chain and direct and indirect injection, reaching a maximum power of 272 HP and a maximum torque of 46.9 kgm.

For its part, the front electric motor generates 83 HP of power and 29.7 kgm of torque, while the rear electric motor offers a power of 80 HP and 17 kgm of torque. When working together, they deliver a maximum performance of 349 HP and 550 Nm.

The system is associated with a six-speed automatic transmission and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds.

Inside, a 12.3″ central multimedia screen stands out with wireless Apple CarPlay and USB cable connectivity for Android Auto. Additionally, it is equipped with a JBL premium audio system with 11 speakers and a subwoofer.
