A serious accident occurred during the production of the new film The Pickupfilm starring Eddie Murphy and Keke Palmer. The event occurred last Saturday, April 20, on the set located in Atlanta, and resulted in the injury of several members of the technical team, as confirmed by official sources.
The accident took place during a action sequence previously rehearsed by the second unit. A spokesperson for Amazon MGM Studios, the film’s production company, explained that, unfortunately, the filming did not go as planned. “We are still in the process of gathering information about what happened and why, but first and foremost, our good wishes go out to those who are recovering (from the accident),” Deadline quotes.
Additional information revealed by The Associated Press indicated that the accident was a crash caused by a truck that “locked” and collided with another vehicle. An anonymous source described the event as a “completely unforeseen accident” that occurred during a scene that was not considered particularly dangerous. Due to this unfortunate event, two members of the team required hospitalization, one of whom remained in care until the Tuesday following the accident. According to the news agency, injuries span a spectrum from bruises and bruises to bone fractures.
For his part, the spokesperson for the film studio reiterated that the priority on the set is “the well-being” of the professionals and actors. “All safety precautions were verified and monitored during filming,” he said in his statement.
