Wild Gardens

-What are your characters like?

Mica:-We are a couple, Pablo and Tania. We are pregnant, waiting… He is due in a few days and we have just moved to a new neighborhood, a new house, a new garden. And we have very close neighbors, very close.

Nazarene:-Yes, almost ephemeral limits, and then the comedy begins there. There is a clash of generations, of concepts, and somehow this comedy, which is very funny and familiar, touches on a topic that is also very current. Something that is inherent to humans: neighbors who at one point have a conflict of interest.

Micaela Vázquez and Nazareno Casero.

-Does everything rot?

Nazarene:-They go from loving and respecting each other to looking at each other with different eyes. An escalation begins where you realize that there are insurmountable differences. But above all it is very funny because of the contrasts between one couple and another. By elbowing them they will try to accommodate themselves and stand as best they can in their space.

Mica:-And if good neighbours.

Micaela Vázquez and Nazareno Casero.

-The public will discover if the conflict is resolved by weapons or peace…

Nazarene:-There is something to that. It’s like that journey that everyone goes through, between all societies, between neighbors, between brothers. It’s fun to touch on a topic like this from the comedy side.

-Do you enjoy the rehearsals?

Nazarene: On top of that we are having a lot of fun in rehearsals, preparing it. The truth is that we are having a great time.

Micaela Vázquez and Nazareno Casero.

Nazarene, why did you return to the theater after breaking it all over the world with Sueño Bendito?

-I needed to do theater. I needed this training a bit. It’s like taking classes. It is as if it were returning to a routine, to a work methodology that for me is very important because it prepares you and trains you. You are always in training.

-What are the differences that you notice with audiovisual fictions when composing a character?

-The thing about cinema, TV, and fiction is that you can take advantage of what the camera can be. Then, suddenly you learn a letter that is short. Here you have to know a specific time of work. The way in which it works and, well, the methodology is different. And the truth is that I am happy. Yes, very happy.

-Do you feel extra pressure knowing the director has already won five Tony Awards?

Mica:-Yes, it’s Ricardo Hornos. He lives in the United States and it is the first time that he is going to direct in Argentina. We are extremely happy with him because he is an extremely meticulous director, he knows what he wants, he knows what each character is like.

-Do you let them contribute?

Mica:-We, obviously, in this matter of each one creating, we propose, we propose and in the links. And he tells us “that’s great for another work.” Like with things yes, with things no. I’ll take this from you, but this doesn’t apply here.

Micaela Vázquez and Nazareno Casero.

Nazarene:-It is permeable, but the limits are also clear. And that’s good because you feel comfortable because there is a look from someone who is taking care of you. It’s not that, well, you’re blocking.

Mica:- He says “how nice what you are proposing as an actress. Save it because it’s good, but it has nothing to do with your character, this is more Mica.” We relax and stop being Pablo and Tania for a while, and we are Nasa and Mica, and we play, I don’t know what, and it’s like, let’s see, play again. Wow, I like this. Or, no, not that. And that for me is good because he is someone who is kind of attentive to everything that happens in each rehearsal.

-After the premiere, Ricardo Hornos leaves the country. Are they going to take the opportunity to put his sandwiches in?

Mica:-Yes, we made a mess of it, ha. The idea is to take care of what he does, but we always screw him up by saying ‘look, when you leave here, there is no one, no one knows what you said, what yes, what no’. We bother him, but obviously everything is extremely controlled by him, and we also trust a lot in his judgment and his eye.

Wild Gardens.

-Mica, taking into account that you are also in Before Nobody in the morning, have you already organized the family routine for Baltazar with Gerónimo Klein?

Mica:-It is a couples therapy issue that we are dealing with.

Nazarene: -With me! We are doing couples therapy ourselves.

Mica:-And he, of course, and he is helping me. Obviously, after many years, I return to the commercial theater from Wednesday to Sunday, which between the pandemic and the fact that Balta was born and is still relatively small, it is going to be quite a family restructuring. It is spoken, but we will see how it is on a day-to-day basis.

Micaela Vázquez and Nazareno Casero.

The idea is that everything goes in peace, but it will be a movement, because I don’t stop going every day, first I leave at seven in the morning, very early and he doesn’t see me because he is still sleeping, and at night too I’m going to go.

It’s going to be a rearrangement, but I think it’s a good message for him too, that he sees me happy and working, and with something that begins and ends. It’s not like I’m going to be like this all my life. I allow it, with all the guilt it generates in me, because obviously some mothers are guilty, but I am very happy, I am very happy and I talk to him and Jero again.

Mica: “I allow it, with all the guilt it generates in me, because obviously some mothers are guilty, but I am very happy, very happy and I talk about it again with Balta and Jero.”

-Is Gerónimo going to take charge?

-As soon as I told him I do theater, he left… No, yes, he is going to take charge, the idea is that Baltha is as content as possible with us, and obviously if we can at some point mom, mother-in-law, someone to come so that he also goes out a little and comes to see the work, so that we are all happy. But the idea is that it is gERO most of the time.

Nazareno, in Jardines Savajes you are married and expecting a baby. After so many years as a couple with Carolina Puntom, are you going in that direction?

-Yeah. It is something that is talked about, especially when you are in a relationship and everything is fine, but well, also… For my part, the gestation of a child is totally different, because I may not position my body in the same way. than the mother. It’s a decision very much hers, because she would sacrifice a lot of things in her life for that.

Micaela Vázquez and Nazareno Casero.

That it is not a sacrifice, because it is clearly something that she wants, or in the hypothetical case, that she would like, but it is a decision of two. Although it is also her mother who is literally going to put her body in bed for several months. When she tells me, well, we’ll approach it from that side.

Nazarene: “Getting married and having children is something that is talked about, especially when you are in a relationship and everything is fine… For my part, the gestation of a child is totally different, because I may not put the body of the same way as the mother.”

-You can ask Mica for advice…

Nazarene: -Lastly, I also already thought, we put the baby in her, we leave it to her and she abandons one, abandons two, total.

-Mica: I happy!
