Asmet Salud EPS will have a new intervening agent: these are the reasons

In the intervention process of Asmet Salud EPS, the intervening agent has been modified on multiple occasions. The last of them was made official on May 7, removing Rafael Joaquín Manjarrés González from office and appointing Javier Ignacio Cormane Fandiño in his place.

At the time of the appointment of agent Manjarrés, Asmet Salud EPS had not been able to guarantee the provision of health services to the affiliated population, as well as the effective response to judicial offices, so as to reduce the legal risk due to the filing of protection actions.. However, the Delegate Superintendency for Health Insurance Entities recommended the removal of the intervening agent in charge. The decision is based on the lack of changes in the critical situation of the entity, as explained in Resolution No 2024320030003573-6 of 2024. The outgoing official must:

  • Deliver the assets and assets of ASMET SALUD EPS SAS, in forced administrative intervention to administer, for which the connection will be made with the new intervening special agent designated for this purpose, within three (3) days following the notification of the decision.
  • In accordance with Chapter II of Title IX of the Sole Circular of the National Superintendency of Health, submit a report in a consolidated physical medium of the activities carried out during your stay in the entity subject to the measure, within five (5) days. calendar following the date of your retirement.
  • Deliver to its replacement the inventory of assets, accounting books, records and other elements related to the administration of assets and affairs of the entity subject to the measure, that are in its possession.
  • Within ten (10) calendar days following notification of this resolution, you must deliver to the National Superintendency of Health and its replacement, a statement of accounts, in which you report the determining issues of the EPS that must continue, in addition to the detailed status of the process in accordance with the provisions of chapter II of title IX of External Circular 0047 of 2007 of the National Health Superintendency and other regulations that complement or modify it.

Obligations in charge of the new intervening agent of Asmet Salud EPS

In Resolution No 2024320030003573-6 of 2024, the National Health Superintendency establishes as obligations for the intervening agent: the presentation of a work plan within a period of 30 days following its possession, which will be evaluated, discussed and approved by the Directorate. of Special Measures for EPS and Adapted Entities.

The intervening agent within the first ten (10) calendar days of each month must present to the National Health Superintendency a periodic written report that must contain an analysis of the financial, legal, technical-scientific and administrative components of the surveillance, as well as the progress of each of the activities contained in the work plan with a unified month-by-month report from the date of possession, as well as any other analysis that is considered relevant.
