On June 21, just last June, the authorization of a 24/7 medical shift began at the Pu Mülen Hospital of Quilacahuín (HPQ), in the commune of San Pablo, with the implementation of which the Osorno Health Service (SSO) thus responds to a need desired by the community of the sector, which represents a milestone for the intercultural establishment and its users.

As explained by the Department of Articulation of the SSO Care Network, this new modality is materialized through the injection of medical human resources and TENS reinforcement, necessary to guarantee quality, timeliness and continuity of emergency care in the community facility.

And before this launch, this unit operated with medical hours from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., but now it has emergency care provided by a permanently resident medical professional with 24/7 coverage. , which will allow greater resolution capacity of the hospital, thus reducing referrals to the Osorno Base Hospital.

In this regard, the deputy medical director of the Pu Mülen Hospital, Dr. David Villegas, explained that with this new modality “the population will be able to access the emergency room of our hospital at all hours without any type of inconvenience, with an additional doctor who will be “He added, thanks to the initiative of the Health Service, with which we have seven doctors, therefore, we are going to have precisely 24-hour medical shifts.”
