LOS ANGELES — Right-hander Kenley Jansen, known for his impressive record as a major league closer, has set his sights on a new venture beyond the baseball diamond.
Jansen recently announced the establishment of KJ74 Entertainment, a record label that aims to introduce the unique sounds of the ABC Islands to audiences around the world.
Originally from Curacao, one of the ABC islands with a population of approximately 300,000, Jansen has had a deep-rooted connection to his homeland and this inspired him to create KJ74 Entertainment. Through this new business endeavor, Jansen hopes to amplify the rich and diverse musical talents of the ABC Islands and share them with a global audience.
Kenley Jansen shared her motivation behind creating KJ74 Entertainment, saying, “I have been running a music label in Curacao for the past four years and see the incredible potential in the cultural fusion and different sounds of our region. It is my passion to showcase the talent of my home country and our sister islands to the world.”
One of the first artists to join forces with KJ74 Entertainment is RAFIK, a talented musician of Lebanese and Colombian descent hailing from Curacao. RAFIK will release his first single, “TUKUN,” under the KJ74 Entertainment label, offering a preview of the vibrant and diverse music the label aims to bring to global audiences.
The KJ74 Entertainment label is set to make a significant impact on the music industry by promoting the rich musical heritage of the ABC Islands and supporting local talent on an international stage. Artists who are also part of KJ74 Entertainment’s artist roster include Omar Pierce and Amos of Icons Curaçao.
