The Bolivian Davis Cup team will play the World Group II match against Uruguay at Las Palmas Country Club in Santa Cruz on September 14 and 15, according to the Bolivian Tennis Federation (FBT).

This will be the first time that La Palmas CC receives this phase of the tournament, since on previous occasions the Davis Cup, with the old format, was held in other venues in the capital of Santa Cruz, in addition to this international team tournament being played in Trinidad, La Paz and Cochabamba. In the case of the valley, the last time was in 2014, when La Verde won 3-1 in Guatemala, to remain in Group II American Zone.

“They told us that we are hosting the Davis Cup, so we are very happy about this possibility of organizing the series between Bolivia and Uruguay. It will be the first time that this club will receive the Davis Cup,” said Rolando Nieva, head pro of LPCC to the FBT.

Likewise, the FBT recalled that Bolivia will be local in this phase after returning to the GII World Cup this year, after beating Thailand.

La Verde will be home against Uruguay, this time, because the last duel was on Uruguayan soil in 2006, the one that ended with a 5-0 local victory, for Group II America at that time.

The national team roster has not yet been released. Captain Mauricio Solís will be in charge of calling up the players to win the group and aspire to access the play-offs for World Group I.
