It had been warned for several weeks. Starting this Wednesday, June 26, the Star+ signal is included in the Disney+ gridand it will be on this platform that ESPN sports matches and events will be seen, as well as own series and movies.

Diego Lerner, President of The Walt Disney Company Latin America, clarified that this enriches the platform’s proposal: “Disney+ has connected with the lives of millions of people around the world by providing a home for stories from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic. Now it will also do so with the power of the brand and spirit of ESPN and its unmatched sports offering, and the general entertainment content of Star,” he said.

So if you go to Disney+ you will now find that ESPN content is now available directly through the platform and thus its more than 700 sporting events per month from various disciplines, in addition to the analysis of experts in productions such as SportsCenter, ESPN’s flagship show throughout Latin America, and specialized football, rugby, motor sports and combat programs, among others. “In addition to accessing its linear channels, subscribers will be able to enjoy the unmatched passion of live sport and the possibility of reliving it, with attractive and varied proposals every day,” they said from Disney+.

How does that affect subscribers of both platforms?

The first clarification has to do with the fact that those who already have a subscription to Disney+, Star+ or Combo+ directly can now enjoy the Disney+ Premium plan.

On the other hand, new users will be able, starting today, to choose between three subscription plans: Disney+ Premium, Disney+ Standard and Disney+ Standard with Ads. “The latter will initially be available only in Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Chile and Colombia, integrated into packages from commercial partners such as Mercado Libre,” they specified.

Another concern for users is knowing if what they had on their “list” in Star+ will be added to their “list” on Disney+. To which the platform clarified that the actions performed in one application will not be reflected in the other. “This means that if you already had Star+ or Combo+ and you access a subscription to Disney+ that includes Star, the content saved in My list from Star+ or in your current viewing history will not appear on Disney+. This also applies to other features, such as your Star+ profiles and settings. Changes you make in Star+ will not be reflected in the Disney+ app or website.”

In any case, remember that access to Star+ will be visible until July 24, 2024 (when the platform will no longer be available) in order to configure profiles, settings and a new version of My list on Disney+ with the Star+ account as a reference.

Of course, the parental controls of Disney+ apply to the content of Star and ESPN, but also with the arrival of live channels and sporting events on Disney+, the option can now be deactivated Live and unrated so that some profiles do not see that type of content.

If for some reason you cannot see Star and ESPN content on Disney+, the recommendation is to review the parental controls: “It may be necessary to change the age rating or activate the Live Content option to see Star and ESPN content on Disney+. Disney+. Likewise, check what content your plan includes: in some cases, you may find all the Star and ESPN content, but you may need a different plan to watch some titles,” they clarified.
