Ferns call in replacement goalkeeper for two-match series against Thailand

Teenage goalkeeper Aimee Feinberg-Danieli has been added to the Football Ferns squad ahead of their two-match series against Thailand in Christchurch.

Feinberg-Danieli (19) has replaced Wellington Phoenix clubmate Brianna Edwards who has withdrawn from the squad for personal reasons.

It’s the first time Feinberg-Danieli has been called into the full national squad.

She played her junior football with Auckland’s Eastern Suburbs before a move to the Waikato where she played her first senior games for Cambridge as a 15-year-old.

Spells with Hamilton Wanderers and Auckland United brought her to the attention of the Wellington Phoenix who signed her in 2023.

The Ferns, currently ranked 28th in the current FIFA rankings, will meet Thailand (#47) at the Apollo Projects Stadium, Ōtautahi Christchurch, on April 6 and 9, 2024.
