At midday this Thursday, March 28, the Army reported heavy fighting in rural area of Argelia, Cauca, among Army troops and members of the ‘Second Marquetalia’.
The clashes, according to the military institution, So far, five members of the dissident group have been left dead.
“The offensive against this armed group continues and more neutralizations could be reported after carrying out the verificationsand searches in the area,” the Army said.
The Military Forces reported that during the development of the operation, “a minor who had been forcibly recruited by that criminal group was injured.”
“Military combat personnel provided him with first aid and later in a medical helicopter of the Air Force was evacuated to receive specialized medical care,” the institution indicated.
Last Wednesday On March 27, combats were fought against dissidents in the rural area of the Espíritu Santo district of Chaparral (Tolima)which left three members of the ‘Ismael Ruiz’ structure, of the ‘Estado Mayor Central’, dead and 10 dissidents captured.
Among the dead would be found alias Capotillo, head of the ‘Ismael Ruiz’ front, and his third in command, alias Pacho, was captured.
Let us remember that in recent days, in development of the Medusa stability operation, troops of the Army managed to dismantle the finance commission of the ‘Second Marquetalia’ that operates in Meta, Tolima, Caquetá and Huila.
The operations were carried out simultaneously by the Gaula Militar Meta and the Battalion ofe Urban Special Forces No. 4. in coordination with the Gaula Police Caquetá and the Engineer Battalion No. 12 Liborio Mejíathrough arrest warrants, for the crimes of conspiracy to commit crimes for extortion purposes and homicide.
These individuals are also accused of carrying out the illegal recruitment of people, coordinating criminal actions against the public forcecollection of extortionate fees from the different unions, ordering selective homicides and kidnappings of businessmen, merchants, ranchers and farmers from these departments.
