César Acuña says that the investigation against Dina Boluarte discourages investments: “I speak as a businessman”

The governor of La Libertad, Cesar Acunaconsidered this Tuesday that the investigation against President Dina Boluarte and the interpellations faced by some members of the Ministerial Cabinet in Congress generate “instability” and discourage investments in the country.

In a press conference, the leader of the Alliance for Progress (APP) and one of the president’s main political allies advocated entrusting the investigations to the Public Ministry and focusing efforts on “looking forward.”

“This thing about investigating the president, and questioning ministers every week, is called instability and in instability there is no investment; Now I speak as a businessman,” he said when asked about the so-called Rolexgate, a case for which Boluarte is involved in a process for alleged illicit enrichment and for which the governor was summoned before the Congressional Oversight Commission.

“He [ente] The one who has to thoroughly investigate all these complaints is the Prosecutor’s Office. For the good of the country, today let the Prosecutor’s Office do its job. […] I’m not saying that we forget, that we investigate, but let’s look forward. I am worried about the country. Nobody really says if there is a crisis. There is an economic crisis in this country,” he added.

Acuña stressed the importance of attracting investments to ensure economic growth and job creation, a position that has also been issued by the Executive’s spokespersons. “When there is investment, it generates growth, development, jobs and [es] what Peruvians are looking for. It [que] I hear on the street it’s work. […] I have always said that there has to be honesty in management, transparency,” he continued.

According to Trade, In the first five months of administration the governor of Freedom recorded 37 official activities with the same head of state, ministers and other senior executive officials, a notable presence in activities ranging from construction inaugurations to strategic planning meetings.

The day before, Boluarte was booed by citizens during an official event in a week marked by her low rate of popular acceptance and the controversy surrounding the rolexgatea panorama that generated visible annoyance in the president.

“Those cries against the country are not going to stop us, here we are firm for the health of all Peruvians. Here there is no room for hatred, here there is no room for mediocrity and that is why here we begin a new chapter in medical care in our country,” he shouted.
