“The expansion of the ejido may be useful, but it should not neglect Trelew,” said Coliñir.

The mayor of Trelew, Gerardo Merino, received this Tuesday the legislator of the Arriba Chubut block and former candidate for mayor, Emanuel Coliñir, to explain the project to expand the city’s urban ejido.

After the meeting that took place in the municipal president’s office, the deputy said: “We discussed that issue and other issues. We took some time so that he could explain to me” the proposal that he will present in the Legislature of Chubut, after the meeting that will continue this Saturday with Governor Ignacio Torres and the mayors.

“The talk was profound. There are things that I prefer the mayor to say,” revealed the deputy, who admitted that “it may be useful” to expand the ejido to the southeast, encompassing a coastal front, incorporating Punta Tombo and Isla Escondida. .

Coliñir considered that “it is a favorable moment for Trelew to discuss his ejido, but it is deeper, because the development model of the city must be defined,” taking into account that this debate will incorporate energy, production and tourism issues.

However, he considered that “Trelew’s urgent agenda is different and I transmitted it to the mayor.” The deputy believes that the ejido discussion should not overshadow citizens’ demands for works, improvements and services.

“The neighbors are asking for food assistance, for it not to flood, for the streets to be repaired faster and no one talks to me about the expansion of the ejido. But the government has the right to impose whatever agenda it wants,” he remarked.

Coliñir maintained that the mayor “should not neglect the other agenda, the one we have today.” And he proposed that the expansion of the ejido does not imply the use of resources that will not be seen in the city, such as using machinery to enable roads when in the Inta, Moreyra, Amaya or Menfa neighborhoods the streets need maintenance during and after a storm.
