Within the framework of the joint work of the Directorate of Health and Social Action -Sec. of Government -, dining rooms and picnic areas in the city and the Sgo Food Bank. del Estero, Dr. Jorge Mukdise and the president of the CPN Foundation Miguel Siufi, signed the renewal of the Cooperation Agreement with this institution dedicated to reducing hunger and avoiding food waste through the recovery of food without commercial value but suitable for consumption, to distribute them among community aid organizations.
The Food Bank and the local Health and Social Action Directorate distributed more than 3,600 kg. of dry and fresh food among the 50 canteens and picnic areas registered in the last two years, which are added to the regular provision made by the Municipality to sustain the solidarity work of the communities in charge of the canteens.
Given the difficult situation faced by sectors of the population with food vulnerability, the work teams resolved to optimize the logistics of shipments and the nutritional value of food to improve the volume of distribution among the beneficiary entities.
Also, the Municipality will be in charge of providing organic seeds and transferring knowledge from the Municipal Nursery to the Agroecological Garden that the Bank has at its headquarters and participating from the Environmental Center in its Waste Treatment Project and Production of Bio Fertilizers from a Compost.
Also participating in this meeting were the Secretary of Government Lic. Raúl Gutierrez, the Director of Health and Social Action Lic. Nelly Budelacci of Japaz, the General Coordinator of the CPN Foundation Cinthia Herrera, Lic. Andrea Ferru of the Board of Directors and the Lic. Eugenia Bonetto of the Resource Development Department of the Food Bank.
