The housing project includes the construction of 96 homes.

More than 95% progress is made in the construction of the 96 homes for families of the “Young Project” committee of Balmaceda, a work that is carried out by the company Entre Ríos and which was visited this Tuesday by the seremi of housing and urban planning, Paulina Ruz Delfín, the director of Serviu, Víctor Contreras, leaders and representatives of the sponsoring entity Aes Consultores.

The housing project, the largest that has been developed in the town, was able to materialize thanks to a special call made by the Ministry of Housing during the year 2022.

In 2023, the transfer of land by Serviu and the subsequent delivery of subsidies by Minvu was completed, totaling more than 8 billion pesos. With these resources, plus the savings of families, at the end of March 2023 the intervention began in blocks 41, 44 and 47, located in front of the airport sector.

After verifying the status of the works on the ground, the housing minister, Paulina Ruz, highlighted the progress made in the execution of the project, which is added to other works that continue to become a reality in different communes in the region.

“Our challenge in the Housing Emergency Plan is to reach the Aysén Region with 1,293 homes. For us that is a floor, and an example of this is the significant progress that we see today in this work, which will deliver 96 new homes for families in Balmaceda,” said the seremi.

“This implies a commitment on the part of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning in the Aysén Region, to decentralize the benefit of the State, but also to guarantee families the right to decent and adequate housing as appropriate, with territorial relevance and with the most high quality standards,” added Ruz.

Also the president of the “Youth Project” committee, Katherine Zuleta, expressed her joy and satisfaction at seeing that they are getting closer to their own home.

“I am the president of the Proyecto Joven Housing Committee and I am in charge of 96 families. Today we came to tour the homes to see the basis that the construction company has and we are very happy, since the deadlines have been met as they correspond,” said Zuleta.

For his part, the director of Serviu, Víctor Contreras, highlighted the 96 homes as an integral part of the Government’s management in the territory.

“This also allows families to establish themselves in sectors that are complemented by other services, which can opt, for example, for the work that another ministry is doing here in the region. Then they give access and allow all the management that the Government is doing to be decentralized,” said the director.

The new Balmaceda housing complex includes 93 new homes of 50.4 m2 and 3 homes of 64.7 m2. The company “Entre Ríos” has a completion period of 550 days, so the works should be completed in September of this year.
