The strategy integrates all actors in the health system in order to obtain a timely response, effective coordination and activation of routes.

Tunja, April 24, 2024. (UACP). In a virtual meeting led by the Secretary of Health, Óscar Jiménez Espinosa, the Boyacá Emergencies and Emergencies Regulatory Center and the entities that are part of the departmental committee, outlined actions with the purpose of providing a timely and effective response to emergency situations.

Secretary Óscar Jiménez Espinosa highlighted the development of the First Committee of the General Trauma Code System, a strategy formalized in December of the previous year through an administrative act.

This initiative integrates all actors in the health system, especially the department’s providers, to improve severe trauma care in municipalities and provinces.

The official also pointed out that this strategy has been successful not only at the local level, but also at the national and international level by improving results in complex trauma care through timely response and care, effective coordination and activation of routes, which allows us to gain time and, therefore, save lives and prevent more serious disabilities and injuries.

Jiménez highlighted that they are articulated with all the Health Services Providing Institutions (IPS) of the department.

“We are strengthening prevention measures such as the use of helmets, the prohibition of driving under the influence of alcoholic beverages and respect for traffic rules,” the secretary stressed. (End /Edgar Gilberto Rodríguez Lemus)
