Every April 25, the World Day to Fight Child Abuse is commemorated internationally, with the intention of raising awareness in society about violence as an attack on the rights of girls, boys and adolescents.

The Ministry of Social Development, through the Secretariat of Early Childhood, Children and Family, promotes on this date awareness and awareness as a society of the need to work to eradicate all types of violence against children and adolescents.

It is important to know that child abuse means any form of physical and emotional abuse, which includes sexual abuse, abandonment, negligent treatment and any other type of damage to the health and comprehensive development of girls, boys and adolescents.

The Secretariat of Early Childhood, Children and Family works on specific lines of action to promote, prevent and restore rights to children and adolescents who are exposed to problems such as these.

So far this year, more than 390 calls have been received to LINE 102, a free telephone service for girls, boys and adolescents available 24 hours a day all year. Of these calls, almost 100 were carried out by girls, boys and adolescents. Among the most worrying issues, physical abuse carried out by adults against girls, boys and adolescents is detected; neglect of care; sexual abuse against children and adolescents and consultations on the processing of financial allocations.

Another line of work that is implemented for the purposes of eradicating violence against children are parenting workshops where healthy parenting is strongly addressed with the adults in charge of care. It is a policy that makes it possible to modify the situations in which the rights of girls, boys and adolescents are violated.

Likewise, through the 87 Early Childhood Centers throughout the Province, the comprehensive development of girls and boys between six months and four years of age is promoted. Currently, a total of 3,774 boys and girls, and a total of 1,529 families, attend the centers.

Through these public policies, the Ministry of Early Childhood, Children and Family and the minister Mario Mimessi They reaffirm their commitment to building a safe environment for all boys and girls in the provincial territory to grow up with dignity.
