Governor Jaldo recalled that immunization will be voluntary and that the schedule will consider risk groups.

The first 30,000 doses of the dengue vaccine arrived in the province in the last few hours and the governor was Osvaldo Jaldo the person in charge of announcing that, from Monday, the voluntary vaccination of personnel considered essential in the Tucumán public administration will begin.

The president acknowledged that in the midst of the economic crisis “we are making a great economic effort and we are the second or third province that purchases the vaccine. The investment is around 3,000 or 4,000 million pesos. It is not an expense, it is an investment to keep the people who care for us and educate us healthy.”

The purchase of the vaccines had been confirmed just over two weeks ago, in the midst of a wave of record infections and deaths in the province and the country. “Despite the global demand and the delay in delivery, we already have the first 30,000 doses in Tucumán. They are for all those people who perform essential services. The first will be the employees of the provincial health system and, in parallel, those who care for and teach our children,” Jaldo explained to the press.

To justify the decision made by the Executive, the Tranqueño assured that “we cannot be left without health personnel, we cannot be left with personnel from the educational system and much less without police officers. Therefore, these vaccines should be directed to these three sectors.”

The governor also explained that “as we have purchased 200,000 vaccines, we have secured two doses for all essential personnel.”
