The Ministry of Health of Entre Ríos presented the Winter Campaign, a policy that prioritizes differentiated care for respiratory symptoms in pregnant women and children up to six years old. It was done this Friday at the Arturo Oñativia Regional Reference Center in Paraná.

Through networking, hospitals and primary care centers will attend to consultations for respiratory symptoms in the 65 hospitals and 208 health centers, with protected shifts. In this way, a system of epidemiological surveillance, with a permanent evaluation of planned strategies and unified registration. The analysis of each of the data allows you to optimize the allocation of resources.

He Minister of Health, Guillermo Grieve, pointed out that it is a specific strategy carried out through the Program Low Acute Respiratory Infections (LRTI), by which material and human resources are reinforced in all health facilities in the province from May 2 to August 31.

Respiratory disease care

“We know the impact of respiratory infections, which, although most are viral, can get worse. That is why it is important attend to them early, with qualified personnel such as doctors, residents and nurses, and have the necessary beds in case hospitalization is required,” indicated the Minister of Health.

Through the IRAB 2024 Program, they are put into operation 12 respiratory posts with abbreviated hospitalization, located in the reference centers of the capitals of the four health regions: Paraná, Concordia, Concepción del Uruguay and Gualeguaychú.

In this way, starting in May, the province organizes differentiated and priority care for children under six years of age with medical reinforcements. The proposal has the support and technical monitoring of the Directorate of Maternal, Child and Youth Health.

Each hospital is prepared to receive the moderate to severe cases, referred to reference centers, and the resource of municipal health centers is also added, in an integrated work between jurisdictions.

Among the preventive actions recommended to the teams, the following are sought: stimulate pregnancy checks (from the first trimester); breastfeeding; vaccination and early consultation. The premise is to identify patients at risk of severe SARI. In addition, the work of diagnosis, response to treatment, priority of care and referrals is strengthened.

It is worth mentioning that the campaign was made official through Ministerial Resolution No. 1647, issued by the health portfolio.

The general directors of Essential Obstetric and Neonatal Conditions (CONE) and Perinatal Regionalization, Paulo Capotosti, participated in the event; from Nursing, Elisabet Franco, and from the First Level of Care, Gladys Arosio; the director of Maternal and Child Youth Health, Georgina López, together with the technical representatives of the IRAB Program, Damián Monzón and Natalia Dumé; the director of the CRR, Nicolás Roldán; and workers of the institution.
