The attacks suffered by a baby when he was a few months old culminated in his violent death in June 2023 in the district of Ararca, jurisdiction of Cartagena, Bolívar.
The minor’s mother, identified as the alleged person responsible for this atrocious event, was prosecuted 10 months after what happened by the Attorney General’s Office, the entity that carried out the respective investigation.
“According to the investigation, the events occurred in the town of Ararca on June 2, 2023, when the defendant admitted the minor to a care center in a delicate state of health due to an alleged fall he had suffered. Minutes later the child died,” explained the Prosecutor’s Office.
However, this fact caught the attention of the doctors since the baby was in a state of malnutrition, abandonment, neglect and had a history of abuse to his body, for which the authorities were alerted.
Apparently, according to the Prosecutor’s Office, the violence against the child by his mother began when he was a few months old and was carried out physically, verbally and psychologically.
According to the opinion of the National Institute of Legal Medicine, the minor had trauma to the skull, thorax, abdomen and lumbar region, as well as bruises on the face and liver ligament tears as a result of continuous attacks to which he was subjected. .
The woman accused of this violent case, who is 19 years old, surrendered to the authorities at the Prosecutor’s Office facilities in Cartagena after the arrest warrant was issued against her.
The Prosecutor’s Office charged him with the crime of aggravated homicide, but he did not accept the charge. Even so, a judge with Guarantee Control functions imposed a restraining order on her in the women’s prison in the capital of Bolívar.
