With expectations increasing, the International Image Festival announces its twenty-third edition, which will take place from May 6 to 12 in the cities of Manizales and Bogotá. This year, the Festival invites you to explore and reflect on geo-poiesis, a concept that seeks to examine the relationships between humans and their environment, with the aim of finding sustainable solutions in the midst of current environmental challenges.
One of the main attractions of the Festival are the artistic and academic calls, which have received an enthusiastic response from artists, designers, scientists and researchers from all over the world. In the academic call for the XX International Academic Forum on Design and Creation, 106 proposals were received from countries such as Colombia, Chile, Mexico and Spain, of which 86 were selected, addressing topics ranging from designs and technologies for consilience to ecosystems. biocultural and collaborative networks.
On the other hand, the artistic call closed with 22 pre-selected exhibitions out of 66 registered, showing a wide diversity of creative proposals. The participation of countries such as Canada, Brazil, Germany, France and Switzerland stands out, demonstrating the international reach of the Festival.
«Participation in the calls has a positive balance, with a notable national and international presence. This year, the Festival promises to be a space of convergence between design, art, science and technology, with the aim of contributing to the transformation of the local environment,” says Carolina Salguero Mejía, director of the Festival at the University of Caldas. .
