The Chamber of Deputies gave half sanction to the Bases law in general and approved the chapter that enables the possible privatization of four public companies, among which is Aerolíneas Argentinas. In addition, another five will be subject to concession.

The companies that may be privatized if the law is approved in the Senate are the following: Argentinian airlinesEnergía Argentina SA, Radio and Television Argentina and Intercargo SAU.

They are not the only companies affected by the regulations. The following may also undergo modifications public enterprises subject to privatization or concession: Agua y Saneamientos Argentinos SA, Correo Oficial de la República Argentina, Belgrano Cargas y Logística, Sociedad Operadora Ferroviaria and Corredores Viales.

With 142 affirmative votes, 106 negative votes and 5 abstentions, the Chamber of Deputies gave half a sanction to the Bases Law in general after more than 20 hours of debate in Congress.

La Libertad Avanza had broad political support from the different parliamentary blocs. The definition of Milei’s mega project will come during the day when the particular vote is defined.

The five abstentions came from the deputies of the Radical Civic Union Facundo Manes, Marcela Coli, Pablo Juliano, Fernando Carbajal and the deputy of the Civic Coalition Mónica Frade.
