The 2023 school year in Mendoza marked a positive milestone in the educational field with the highest promotion rate in eight years. Thanks to the academic recovery period that lasted until March, 82.21% of students advanced to the next yearwhile only 17.79% remained in the same grade.

These results reflect that of the 61,833 students evaluated, 50,831 progressed to the next educational level, evidencing a notable improvement compared to the 11,000 who were left behind.

The Secondary Education Directorate of the DGE highlighted that this period recorded the lowest repetition rate in the last eight years, complemented by a school retention of 98.7%. This achievement is attributed to the effective implementation of educational policies and teaching methodologies, backed by the commitment of teachers and the support of the school government.

Emilio Morenodirector of Secondary Education, highlighted the joint effort of supervisors, teachers and educational authorities, underlining the positive impact of innovative pedagogical practices and the use of tools such as the GEM and the Early Warning System (SAT), which guarantee effective support for students in their educational career.

When analyzing performance by grade, it is observed that in Oriented Secondary, the highest promotion rate was achieved in the 4th year, with 85.4%, followed by the 1st and 2nd years with 83.31% and 82.63% respectively. However, the only year below the average was 3rd year, with 77.93%, a challenge that requires continued attention from educational authorities.

The lower repetition rate also coincides with an increase in the number of students who obtained their secondary degree. Of the 11,610 5th year students, 64.85% achieved their effective graduation during the 2023 calendar year.

Dark emphasized the institution’s commitment to guarantee the effective graduation of students, highlighting the importance of regular attendance, continuous evaluation and personalized support. In addition, he highlighted the fundamental role of knowledge recovery, which offers classes outside school hours with a specific study plan and assigned teachers, ensuring that more than 90% of the participants reach their goal of effective graduation.
