With the support of a canine guide, the Police managed to seize five kilos of marijuana that were going to be sold on the streets of the metropolitan area of ​​Bucaramanga.

For the Police, this action prevented more than five thousand doses of marijuana from being sold in stores and public places in Bucaramanga.

These are 5 kilos of marijuana that were discovered in a delivery company in the Gaitán neighborhood, in the west of the city.

Through joint agreements with the companies in charge of receiving and sending parcels, a Police canine handler found the narcotic in a box.

According to Captain Juan Camilo Chacón Zambrano, head of the Carabineros Unit of the Metropolitan Police of Bucaramanga, the dogs have prevented narcotics from reaching stores or ‘pots’ in the city under this modality known as ‘narcoencomienda’. city.

“On this occasion we obtained the support of the canine ‘Baileys’, specialized in narcotics detection, who gave the positive signal through his sense of smell for the presence of narcotics inside a box. Sometimes they incorporate substances such as fats, coffee, among others; In the same way, they have tried to hide it in other elements, with the aim of not being detected, however, the experience of the uniformed officers and their canines does not give respite to crime,” said the officer.

The five kilos of marijuana came from Cali and were going to be sold in Bucaramanga.

The drugs were left at the disposal of the Prosecutor’s Office and investigations continue to find the gangs dedicated to drug trafficking in Colombia.
