TOAlthough Colombian television has had all kinds of coexistence and reality programs, ‘La Casa de los Famosos’ arrived as a new format, which has worked in other countries and which promised to be the leader in the ‘ratings’. However, what happened with Isabella Santiago, Miguel Melfi himself, the ‘influencer’ Camilo Pulgarín and the ‘influencer’ Karen Sevillano, crossed all limits and that is why the commotion among the public and among social media users.
Why was Isabella Santiago expelled from ‘La Casa de los Famosos Colombia’?
On May 3, 2024, in the middle of one of the parties that take place in the ‘reality’ show every Friday, things got out of control with liquor and most of the participants had too many drinks. But instead of going to sleep, Isabella Santiago, Miguel Melfi and Camilo Pulgarín ended up in an embarrassing spectacle, waking up their companions, taking them out of their beds, disordering and breaking items, engaging in more than ‘spicy’ conversations and even inflicting physical attacks on them. form of ‘game’.
It all started when Melfi and Santiago were talking on the terrace of the house, quite excited, so Karen Sevillano and the ‘influencer’ Natalia Segura ‘La Segura’ went to ask the Panamanian to go to bed. Among the conversations that took place, and that hint at the decision to expel Santiago, it is seen that Isabella Santiago stays in the room of the group of Miguel Melfi, Karen Sevillano and ‘la Segura’. But the effects of the alcohol on her body made her talk too much and she even tried to help undress Melfi, who was also taking everything as a ‘game’.

And in another fragment you hear that Isabella speaks, in a low voice, with ‘Lasegura’ and says that they kissed with the Panamanian and the ‘influencer’ Ornella Sierra was watching: “I tell you that I kissed him… In the corner, Ornella was and everything”.
What the RCN Channel did not show about the expulsion of Isabella Santiago
Although the Colombian channel did not show everything, the details of what happened were recorded through the 24-hour digital transmission on the Vix platform. And unlike what else was seen on screen, it is evident that Isabella Santiago was not the only one responsible for crossing the limits and transgressing the rules.
Apart from the broadcast of the program last Saturday, May 4, on RCN, the entire incident was broadcast on the digital platform and Internet users recorded what happened and shared it on social networks. This is how Isabella’s attempts to kiss Melfi became known, Melfi’s grabbing of her roommates to get them out of bed, Camilo Pulgarín’s struggles and blows to continue the game of those already mentioned, Karen Sevillano’s blows so that They would let her rest and return the items they had taken from her as a joke and Isabella’s hair clips from Karen.
And although all this would have passed as jokes, games and dynamics that they lived in the midst of drunkenness, all the behaviors go against the rules of the program. The fact being more serious than Isabella Santiago, apart from trying to undress Miguel Melfi at one point, in the end she removed the sheet that covered him and left him naked and the cameras were able to show this.
Decision to expel Isabella and sanctions for Melfi, Sevillano and Camilo
Well, in the RCN Channel program on Saturday, May 4, the presenters Cristina Hurtado and Carla Giraldo warned that there were going to be strict decisions, strong punishments and an unexpected expulsion. This is how Hurtado began speaking: “Viewers, I tell you that yesterday, after the party, the behavior of some of the celebrities crossed the limits. I’m talking about Karen, Isabella, Melfi and Camilo”.
While Giraldo explained: “This situation cannot be allowed and the boss has made several decisions that affect everyone. We do not show the images because we consider that this type of situation should not be emphasized.”. The striking thing is that neither of them wanted to mention that the issue had been so delicate and that is why the expulsion decision was the best.
But in a short video, in which the voice of ‘The Boss’ is heard, who is like that ‘Big Brother’ who sees everything and announces what will happen in the house, the following was heard:
I have made a series of drastic decisions for everyone. The entire house will have a general sanction: there will be no parties until further notice. Last night there was aggressive behavior from some of you… Isabella, you broke several rules. That’s why you’re expelled from the competition, leave my house right now. Your colleagues will prepare your belongings and send them to you
He also explained that Karen Sevillano lost her immunity and could be eliminated on Sunday, May 5 by public voting, just as would happen with Miguel Melfi and Camilo Pulgarín. All of them were left on the elimination plate and competed for the salvation of the public, with less time to collect votes.
At the end of the program, in the live broadcast on Canal RCN, there were apologies from Camilo, Karen Sevillano and Melfi. But since the program did not show or explain what really happened, there was a lot of confusion about the reasons for his heartfelt words and why so many mentions for Isabella:
“(I want to) Apologize to the boys and Isabella, more than anything. I feel very bad that she left, I think we saw it as a game, but we were drunk. Apologize to the people, to everyone who saw that , the talk got out of hand and looked bad. I feel very sad because a competitor like Isabella did not deserve to go out like that.”said Camilo Pulgarín.
While, with tears in her eyes, Karen Sevillano said: “I want to talk to my family, to my mother… In my house I have not been taught this, I am a person who reacts very badly to many things and that is why I have worked, internally, a lot. I always go to a psychologist, I talk about the limits, this time I couldn’t. Mommy, daddy and my boyfriend, who are watching me there.”. And Miguel Melfi expressed: “Taking the opportunity to apologize, I feel that it was a moment in which we understood that it was going to be a game, everything was laughter. But we understand that the rules are like that, outside it looks different”.
These decisions and measures once again call into question what is happening in ‘The House of the Famous Colombia’, since in the almost 3 months viewers have accused that the production favors ‘influencers’ with millions of followers, as well as the youngest, most controversial and scandalous characters on the show. While they affect the elderly, who have experience in media and careers without this type of attitudes or history.
