Governor of Huila will execute strategic projects for the agricultural sector

With a focus on productivity and rural development, the governor manages resources to finance projects.

During the visit of President Gustavo Petro to the Municipality of Palermo, the potential of Huila as a bastion for food production and rural tourism was highlighted, as well as its possible leadership in alternative energies. Governor Rodrigo Villalba highlighted the importance of the Productive and Social Planning Plan for Rural Property for this purpose.

At the event, Petro emphasized the relevance of countries like Colombia in food production, thus supporting regional efforts. Villalba highlighted that Huila is the main producer of coffee and tilapia nationwide, as well as an important player in rice production, underlining its eminently rural character.

The improvement of tertiary roads was presented as a crucial challenge for development, with Villalba proposing a collaboration between the national, departmental, municipal government and the community to address this need.
