Due to the declaration of a health emergency in the month of February of this year due to the overflow of sewage in the streets of Santa Marta, the Public Services Company (Essmar) is working on the rehabilitation of the Wastewater Pumping Station ( Ebar Norte) to mitigate this problem.
Germán Naranjo, an official from Minvivienda, together with Jorge López Echeverry, Essmar Special Intervening Agent, representatives of the District and technical staff of the Company, visited the facilities of said pumping station to define the roadmap for the rehabilitation and adaptation project.

With this intervention, it is sought that in sectors such as the Pescaíto neighborhood, El Boro, Bellavista and the Historic Center, they reduce the recurrence of overflow, as well as social order problems; seeking to improve the quality of life of our users and inhabitants, not only in these sectors, but in Santa Marta as a whole.
Manjold intervention, including changing pipes, fittings, accessories, supply and installation of pumping equipment, speed variators, adaptation of panels, self-cleaning screening equipment; Also, general locative repairs to correct damages that will allow the station to function properly, are some of the interventions described in the project that is already in its first phase.

This rehabilitation leads to the Ebar Norte improving its operation and reliability, allowing it to counteract its obsolescence, thus mitigating the problems in the aforementioned sectors.
