Starting today Art Fair for Mom in Santiago de Cuba

A wide range of items, converted into important gifts, to satisfy tastes and needs, will fill leading spaces in Santiago de Cuba in the usual Art for Mom Fair of the Branch of the Cuban Fund for Cultural Assets, from May 7 to 11, on the eve of the celebration of Mother’s Day.

On the occasion of such a significant event, Enramadas Street, an inseparable part of the heritage history of the city and its people, will have its space for the varied offerings, the result of the creation of artists and craftsmen in the form of non-state management: local development, MSMEs and self-employed workers.

According to Ileana Carreras Magdariaga, commercial specialist of the retail network of said institution, “attendees will be able to purchase various products at the 18 covered points, which will travel throughout the main artery of Santiago de Cuba, such as: footwear, textiles, glassware, floral decorations. , jewelry and other very useful items for the home. Likewise, Palma Soriano will be a reference site for the offers of the renowned Fair.

The Spiral Tent, a location located on Enramadas Street itself, between Gallo and Corona, in its capacity as sub-headquarters of the Fair, will give rise, among many other offers, to various furniture samples. Likewise, the creators present will be willing to make, at the moment, any jewelry, at the request of the public.

The vast offering will also include book sales, crafts from the Magic Stamen Project, floral decorations and other creations by the Rosales family; the Mipyme Toy Factory; furniture and metal tools, also from an MSME with its Bellalur Project; proposals in wood and many more creations that will be incorporated.

Glassware, pillow modules, footwear, backpacks, ornaments and many other crafts from artists and craftsmen from the province of Holguín will be present at the long-awaited day.

Along with the marketing dedicated to the significant date, actions are planned such as a donation to the nursing home, América Labadí, located in the Antonio Maceo neighborhood. The artisans, live, will make different items, in relation to certain general use needs for the more than one hundred nonagenarians of said institution.

Every year the Branch of the Cuban Fund for Cultural Assets develops various moments of commercialization of products aimed at satisfying tastes and solving essential objects for people’s lives, but this fair, called Art for Mom, is enhanced with a special significance because, in addition , becomes a prize for the purest and truest love.
