The morning of this Tuesday, May 7, was filled with emotions for the children of the Ambliopes Abel Santamaría Cuadrado Special Education Center, in Sancti Spíritus, as the prize for the El Minint and I Contest, in the specialty of Plastic Arts, was awarded to fourth grade student Ana Lucía Sánchez Martín.

The event also became the setting for a live exhibition with combatants from different specialties, who brought with them the techniques they use in carrying out their missions.

Ana Lucía pointed out that the message of her work is aimed at reinforcing the admiration that children feel towards the combatants of the Ministry of the Interior.

The winner declared to the press that her drawing reflects a policewoman, with the emblem of the institution on her uniform, saluting a pioneer and the national flag on the right bank, to show the Cuban identity.

Her work is already in the country’s capital along with that of the 14 remaining students awarded in the other competing categories, such as literature and letters, where it is expected to obtain several national awards, as has happened in previous years, according to the captain. Yadira Reyes Porcegué, official of the Political Section of the Provincial Delegation of the Ministry of the Interior in Sancti Spíritus.

Meanwhile, Ana Lucía pointed out that the message of her work is aimed at reinforcing the admiration that children feel towards the combatants of the Ministry of the Interior, to whose ranks they will be able to belong when they come of age. Several children even expressed the vision they have of the Rescue and Rescue firefighters and other combatants who were present there. But, without a doubt, the most enjoyable for the little ones were the demonstrations of canine technique.
