The miners played at home at the El Salvador stadium, in the northern city of Calama, and against all odds they took the lead in the 23rd minute thanks to a shot from striker Diego Cohelo.
However, after the score the miners withdrew their ranks, which was taken advantage of by the visitor who began a series of counterattacks until the Brazilian Luciano equalized the actions in the 37th minute, the score with which the first half concluded.
The second half was clearly dominated by the Brazilians, who did not offer any concessions and scored again in the 59th minute, thanks to Rodrigo Néstor, and Jonathan Calleri made it 1-3 in the 77th minute.
With this result, Cobresal is in fourth place in group B with one point in four games, without any possibility of moving to the next stage and with the only prospect of beating Barcelona, from Ecuador, and sneaking into the South American soccer cup.
The other clash scheduled for this Wednesday between Huachipato and Gremio was suspended due to the disaster caused in southern Brazil by intense rains and flooding.
