The dissidents of alias ‘Iván Mordisco’ freed two prosecutors, one of their companions and a soldier who were being held hostage in the department of Cauca.
Delivery was made to International Committee of the Red Cross. “The members of the prosecutor’s office and a soldier kidnapped by the EMC in Cauca have been released,” wrote President Gustavo Petro.
Through a statement the Dagoberto Ramos Front of the Western Bloc Commander Jacobo Arenasreported that the two prosecutors Gerson, Bethy Amanda and her companion María Yeni Ruiz and the professional soldier Yiner Kevin Noscue Largo were released.
“Today, May 12, 2024, we managed to hand it over to the International Committee of the Red Cross, so that within the framework of its neutral humanitarian mandate it can facilitate this return,” they noted.
Prosecutors René Rivera Fernández and Bethi Amanda Mage, along with companion María Yeni Ruiz, They were kidnapped on April 19 on a road near the municipality of Santander de Quilichao, Cauca.
In a statement, this criminal group stated that these people were surprised by a control and registration point of the Dagoberto Ramos Front of the Eastern Bloc.
“Two weapons with their respective ammunition were found in his possession, in addition to electronic devices used to collect information,” said the dissidents’ statement.
