The councilor of Chile Chico, Luperciano Muñoz, accused undue pressure from the Christian Democrats on the Radical Party to lower his eventual candidacy for mayor in the commune of Coyhaique.
Chile Chico.- According to what was indicated by the communal chief, «we are returning to those old practices that do not correspond, aiming at political agreements at the national level where we have nothing to do with. Although there are affections and friendships with many people from the Radical Party, our eventual candidacy is independent.
Muñoz specifically explained that the Christian Democracy is requesting the Radical Party to intervene to lower his candidacy for mayor of Coyhaique or else they will remove support for the PRSD in five other communes nationwide, a situation that was exposed to the communal chief by a member of the national leadership of the Radical Party.
“In this situation I want to show solidarity with the Radical Party, since I will always be very grateful to them for extending their hand to me at the time when I needed it most,” concluded Luperciano Muñoz.
