Days ago, for example, the National Navy led a land journey from Cartagena to the municipality of Uribia to bring medical services and donations to more than 2,500 members of the Wayúu communities.

The 69 volunteers traveled nearly 600 kilometers aboard 4×4 vehicles, crossing the La Guajira desert.

In this effort articulated with public and private entities, the Navy and an interdisciplinary group of professionals and volunteers reached the town of Punta Espada. There, for three days, nearly 700 seniors, 800 adults and a thousand minors benefited from the delivery of more than 20 thousand liters of water, 12 tons of food, donations and medicines, as well as medical care in different specialties such as pediatrics, dentistry, psychology, general medicine and nutrition, among others.

The military entity, the mayor of Uribia, Procaps, Cardio Clinic, Fuerza Colombia, Miss World Colombia, ICBF, 4X4 Barranquilla, the Minuto de Dios Corporation, Coami Guajira and the Simón Bolívar and La Guajira universities participated.
