The dance schoolwith their 700 students, male and female dancers of all ages, gave their all with an incredible display of folk choreography and special costumes for each performance. At the same time that this spectacle was enjoyed, the neighbors and families shared mates, sopaipillas, pastelitos, biscuits and different delicacies made by themselves to savor on the emotional day.
Beyond the cold, the family was present at the mateada
Parents, uncles, grandparents were in charge of photographing their relatives, small and large dancers who, between laughter and applause, did not stop dancing. In this packed room there was no room for distraction due to an artistic display that became even more exciting with the projection of images from that 1810 that set us free.
Ulpiano Suarez For his part, he wanted to thank those present for so much attendance at the event and said: “In this preview of May 25, we are very excited enjoying the talent of all the casts. Celebrating our freedom, with this mateada, is exciting. We are honoring men and women who laid the foundations of this free and sovereign country, but we also honor freedom in this difficult present that we are living, with family, working, respecting, with values. I am convinced that we do this better future that our country deserves together and not against each other. Therefore, I celebrate this celebration as a family because I feel that this is a big family.”
For your part Laura Fuertes, director of Culture of the City, said: “We have been carrying out this patriotic mateada for 13 years and we have 700 students from the Dance School who year after year demonstrate the results of their choreographies. This ballet is one of the best cultural policies that the municipality has. We are very committed to this work of reviving our history, incorporating it and continuing to defend it from every place we occupy. It is an example to preserve such a large school and contain so many families that support us.
