Others, however, have seen their population decline. These processes are indisputably linked to the aging of the entire Riojan population, which is worsening in the towns. Some of our municipalities stand out in a special way, and Lumbreras and Treviana are ranked as the tenth and twelfth towns in the entire country with the highest aging rate.
On the opposite side, the localities that have a higher proportion of the census under 16 years of age are Villamediana de Iregua (20.4%), Torrecilla sobre Alesanco (20.3%), Autol (18.56%), Lardero ( 18.55%) and Gimileo (17.5%).
