A nine-year-old girl traveled almost 200 kilometers in the trunk of the car her father was driving. The situation was discovered by the Córdoba Police in a vehicle check carried out in Sinsacate. The Citroën Xsara was driven by a 36-year-old man, who was traveling accompanied by four other occupants, all of legal age and from Santiago del Estero.
The officers reported the situation to the Secretariat for Children and Adolescents (Senaf) so that it can take the corresponding measures, reported Cadena 3.
According to the police, the man is a driver from Ojo de Agua and had traveled more than 200 kilometers with the girl in the trunk of the car under the excuse that “he had nowhere to leave her.” The officers were surprised by this situation and proceeded to transport the man and his daughter to a police station.
“This minor is the daughter of the driver of the vehicle. The father had decided to transport her there because he already had all the available seats for passengers occupied,” Commissioner Varela told Cadena 3.
According to the uniformed officer, the minor is in good health and has no injuries despite the unusual incident and was temporarily taken into custody while her legal situation is resolved.
