“Youth Initiative” arrives to promote citizen participation and the rights of young people from Salta

The Secretary of Citizen Participation and Community Relations, Ivan Mizzau, will lead the launch of “Young Initiative.” This program includes the delivery of training workshops to strengthen young citizen participation and is framed in compliance with Law 26,061, on the Comprehensive Protection of the Rights of Girls, Boys and Adolescents, in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. and in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, specifically number 16, which contemplates the promotion of just, peaceful and inclusive societies.

“The participation of young people is fundamental to building a more just and equitable society. Their involvement not only provides new perspectives and innovative solutions, but also guarantees the sustainability of our democracies by promoting active and committed citizenship from an early age,” he maintains. Mizzau. For his part, César Segura, general director of Programs of the Secretariat, highlighted the prompt response of the directors of the educational establishments to the invitation to participate in this initiative.

The program, led by Gabriela Camardelli and Lucía Doljanin, contemplates addressing the following topics: Citizenship and Citizen Participation; the rights contemplated in Law 26,061; and, Public Policies and Political Advocacy. In addition, the functioning of the Legislative Branch will be delved into. It will conclude with the active participation of young people in a session of the Chamber of Deputies, as a simulated space for incorporating what they have learned.
