A man with a respiratory pathology had to wait 29 hours to be hospitalized due to lack of beds to do so. Finally, he was able to enter the Ferreyra Hospital this Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.

The man who lives in a center for the elderly in Córdoba Capital, was on Tuesday, June 4, between 12:00 and 18:00, waiting in the Ferreyra Hospital guard until a place was available for his admission. As no bed was freed up, the patient was returned to the Home where he lived.
As his health condition worsened (the diagnosis is “pulmonary edema”), at noon this Wednesday the emergency service transferred him back to Ferreyra. As the hospital still had no “bed available”, a place was requested at Clínica Romagosa, Clínica Vélez Sarsfield and Sanatorio Francés, but there was no availability for hospitalization either. The truth is that only at 7:00 p.m., 29 hours after the moment in which he was to be admitted, he was able to be admitted to a special room at the Ferreyra Hospital.
Thus, this Wednesday, ECCO, the emergency service that transported him, had to take care of the patient for seven hours in which the system had no response.
The situation is not exclusive to the inpatient sector and extends to all health care services. In the different hospitals of Córdoba Capital, complaints and incidents have been occurring daily for two weeks due to long delays for a patient to be seen by a doctor in the office. Some patients revealed having spent more than 12 hours waiting to access health care. In many cases, tense situations are recorded, and in some cases the Police even intervened to calm things down.
