The Argentine team is preparing to face the Copa América 2024 in the United States, where they will play two previous friendly matches against Ecuador and Guatemala, scheduled for this Sunday, June 9 and Friday, June 14, respectively. The continental competition, meanwhile, will begin on Thursday 20 with the confrontation between the albiceleste, defending champion, and Canada, which is disputed at 21 (Argentine time) at the Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta, within the framework of group A.
The other members of the zone are Chile, with whom Argentina plays on Tuesday the 25th at 10 p.m. at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey; and Peru, selected to face at the closing of the initial stage on Saturday the 29th at 9 p.m. at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens. The best two in each group will qualify for the quarterfinals and, from there, there will be direct elimination matches until reaching the final on July 14 at 9 p.m. in Miami.

The Argentine team is the top winner of the Copa América along with Uruguay, with 15 crowns each (the last albiceleste in 2021 and the charrúa in 2011). Brazil, for its part, completes the podium with nine consecrations, with 2019, in which it played at home, being the last of them. Paraguay, Chile and Peru appear much further back, with two titles each: the Guaraní team in 1953 and 1979, the Red team in 2015 and 2016, and the Inca team in 1939 and 1975. Finally, Colombia (2001) and Bolivia ( 1963) they once shouted champion.
