The Recognition Room of the Special Peace Jurisdiction (JEP) summoned to testify former governor of Nariño Antonio Navarro Wolff and three other former governors of that department, on account of the damage suffered by the communities due to the glyphosate spray.

According to jurisdictionwithin the framework of this policy and the reports presented by the victims in the south of the country, it is stated that the use of that chemical and the operations generated serious and disproportionate damage on civilian population and their property.

“Specifically, they specify that direct damage to health of the people and environmental effects serious, including the destruction of pancoger crops, medicinal plants, pollution of rivers and streams,” the magistrate indicated.

The other three former governors who were called are Parmenio Cuéllar (2001 to 2003), Eduardo Zúñiga Eraso (2004 to 2007) and Raúl Delgado Guerrero (2012 to 2015).

These testimonies will be carried out between the June 17 and 25 and other consequences that will be addressed by these events are related to forced displacement that the communities targeted by said policy appeared to be.
