The Colombian National Team is preparing all the details of the friendlies against the local team and against Bolivia in the United States, commitments prior to the 2024 Copa América.
Amaranto Perea, technical assistant, spoke about the call-up of Néstor Lorenzo and an issue that continues to generate controversy: the low presence of local players in the team.

Work in the USA
“We have focused the beginning of the concentration on balancing loads. Some were completing competitions, had vacations, we balanced and adjusted situations in necessary tasks. The group responded very well.”
The first rival
“Everyone is doing very well. It has been exciting to see them compete internally. Everything is very decided but today they don’t know who is going to start. The team that Néstor chooses is going to compete well as we have done.”
Low weight of the FPC
“Our League has talent, but we have to compare it with those in other leagues. We would like the teams at the international level to have more continuity, that brings the players of the League closer together. Here we try to bring the best, in the National Team we try compete with those who we believe help us win. The election has been fair.
Soccer in the USA: USA
“It has evolved, its players are between the English and Italian leagues, they are intense, with transitions that have to be taken into account. It is a great test, it is a competitive and complicated team.”
Tactical work
“How simple it is to download the information to the player. We take the rival into account and based on that we make adjustments. It has gone well because the players are intelligent. The simplicity in giving the concepts has been key.”
