The Government, through the Ministry of Education, provides full support to the sports teachers of the Certified Territorial Entity (CET) of La Guajira, who compete in the departmental phase for places to participate in the individual Sports Games and Folkloric and Cultural Meeting of the Teaching 2024.
This was confirmed by the Secretary of Departmental Education, Ladys Ochoa Oliveros, who on June 6, 2024, opened the athletics, chess, table tennis, swimming, billiards, shuffleboard and mini-tejo competitions.
At the same time, the Folkloric Meeting began, sporting and artistic fairs to which on this occasion 184 teachers, teaching directors and administrators of the La Guajira Teachers’ Center registered, to qualify for 77 places that will compete in the national phase.
Ochoa Oliveros extended the words of Governor Jairo Aguilar Deluque to teachers and administrators, calling on them to “participate with enthusiasm and respect, highlighting the spirit of unity that characterizes us as an educational community.”
During the opening, the selection of the artists of the Folklore and Cultural Meeting was completed, where the Riohacha District emerged as the winners in dance; theater and music the Department and the municipality of Fonseca; Orality, the District of Riohacha with teacher Linda Antonella Solano and in Painting the municipality of Maicao.
Athletes who compete in the disciplines of athletics, chess, table tennis, swimming, billiards, shuffleboard and mini-shuffleboard also gathered.
