The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, travels to Jordan this Monday to participate in the international conference on Gaza that will be held on Tuesday, promoted by the Jordanian king, Abdullah II; the Egyptian president, Abdelfatah al Sisi; and the Secretary General of the UN, António Guterres.
The conference has been convened with the motto “Call to Action: Urgent Humanitarian Response for Gaza”, and the participation of heads of State and Government from around the world, as well as representatives of humanitarian and human rights organizations, is expected to take place. , and financial institutions.
The conference is organized by Jordan, Egypt and the United Nations (UN), and will be attended by King Abdullah II of Jordan, as host, as well as the Secretary General of the UN, António Guterres, and the President of Egypt, Abdel Fattá al Sisi, as organizers.
The objective of this conference will be “to identify ways to strengthen the international community’s response to the humanitarian disaster in the Gaza Strip”, at the level of state leaders, heads of government and heads of international humanitarian organizations and relief organizations.
They will all meet at the King Hussein bin Talal Convention Center in the Dead Sea to identify what humanitarian aid is needed in Gaza, how to overcome obstacles to delivering this aid, and immediate recovery priorities.
Sánchez attends this summit after the Government approved the recognition of Palestine as a State on May 28 and last week decided to intervene in the International Court of Justice procedure initiated by South Africa against Israel for genocide in the Gaza Strip. .
